Christie Lucas Gavin is the Director of Health and Safety at The Roberts Group, wherein she is responsible for directing TRG client initiatives in the areas of health and safety. Prior to this position, Ms. Gavin worked as Science Program Manager at The Roberts Group from 2001 to 2007, and worked as a staff scientist and scientific program manager for TRG's predecessor from 1996-1999. Christie manages TRG’s scientific staff under the direction of Dr. Tim Adams. The TRG Science department is responsible for FEMA’s scientific program, and as such submits data on the safety evaluations of flavor ingredients to both national and international governmental regulatory bodies, as well as the FEMA Expert Panel. Christie has worked in flavor ingredient safety for over eleven years. Christie serves as staff liaison to several client committees.
 
Christie has co-authored several scientific publications on subjects such as the allergenicity of color additives, reviews of the safety of flavoring ingredients and FEMA’s 1995 Flavor Ingredient poundage survey.

Christie received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech. She received her Masters of Public Health (MPH) in environmental science from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in New York City.
